Programm zur Bildungsförderung

Wissen bedeutet Wohlstand. Viele junge Menschen mit Intelligenz, Inspiration und Talent haben aufgrund von finanziellen Schwierigleiten keine Möglichkeit, dafür Anwendung zu finden. 2008 hat SSGT und sein Vorsitzender SK ein “Programm zur Bildungsförderung” gegründet. Mit Hilfe dieser akademischen Stiftung erhalten mehrere hunderte Studenten finanzielle Unterstützung während kritischer Phasen ihrer Bildungskarriere.

Nach dem Durchsehen tausender Bewerbungen, erhielten die vielversprechendsten und finanziell benachteilgsten Kinder dieses Stipendium. Die Prämie stellt sicher, dass die finanziellen Kosten der Studenten während dem kritischen 11. und 12. Schuljahr abgedeckt werden.

Die Gesamtkosten der ersten Phase dieses Programmes überschritt bereits die Grenze von 250.000 $ (10 Millionen Rupies), und wird innerhalb der nächsten 2 Jahre noch drei mal so stark anwachsen. Das nächste Ziel ist es, 1000 zusätzliche Studenten für das kommende Semester zu fördern.

In einer Rede an die erste Gruppe der Studenten, die ein Bildungsstipendium erhielten, wandte sich Sri Kaleshwar an sie mit diesen Worten:

Im Jahre 2007 sicherte der geschäftsführende Vorsitzende des SSGT Sri Kaleshwar, über 600.000 $ (2, 5 Millionen Rupies) für die Errichtung eines neuen technischen Zweiges der Sri Krishna Devaraya Universität in Anantapur zu. Diese großzügige Spende erlaubte der Hochschule, ihren Lehrplan zu erweitern, und ermöglichte vielen zusätzlichen, finanziell benachteiligten Studenten den Zugang zur Universität.

SSGT anerkennt, dass es die größte Verschwendung ist, wenn Studenten, die lernen wollen, aber aufgrund von finanzieller Armutnicht nicht können. Die Zukunft einer Gesellschaft hängt von der Ausbildung ihrer Kinder ab — ohne diese wichtige Verbindung werden Talente verschwendet. Dieses Programm gibt nun die Möglichkeit, dass Talent & Bildung nachhaltige, positive Resultate sowohl bei den Kindern, als auch in der Zukunft der Gesellschaft erzielen kann. In der Eröffnungsfeier des fertiggestellten Gebäudes am 22. Juli 2008 sagte Sri Kaleshwar:

“Ich sehe wie Jugendliche in Bars, Restaurants und Tankstellen arbeiten und dabei ihre Kraft für ihren Ausbildungsweg verlieren, nicht nur in unserem Land sondern in allen Teilen dieser Welt. Aus diesem Grund habe ich (Sri Kaleshwar) diese Spende für die Errichtung dieser technischen Hochschule erteilt, was den finanziell armen Studenten, die das Ingeneurswesen lernen wollen, helfen wird”.

Through this educational sponsorship program (called Anantaanimutyalu), with the cooperation of the government district collector, Sri Kaleshwar will be spending over $200,000, spanning 2 years for those students. All who are accepted into this program with acceptable passing marks and qualifying for financial assistance will receive financial aid for all educational and living expenses during their 11th and 12th years of schooling.

Located in Anatapur, Sri. Krishnadevaraya University is one of the best universities in India. They announced that they will honor the most influenced people, famous for their work in their respective fields, with a doctorate. Sri Kaleshawr was one among them.

The University Vice-Chancellor Mr. A. Rama Rao and Registrar Mr. Y. Krishna Reddy, along with committee members, announced that they are going to honor eight most famous persons with a doctorate in the month of June 2008.

The honored include Dr. Sri Sai Kaleshwar, The President of India Smt. Prathiba Patil, Vice-President Mr. Mohammed Ansari, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Y . S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Reserve Bank of India’s Governor Mr. Venugopal Reddy, Mr. Amarnath Reddy and Mr. Ram Mohan.

Sri Kaleshwar is being honored for his great social work towards the welfare of the poor and for donating 2.3 crores of rupees for the technology building at the University. He has also promised to construct a hostel facilities which will help poor students to have technological education along with food and accommodation. For all his contributions to the poor and the needy, Sri Kaleshwar was been honored with a doctorate by Sri Krishnadevaraya University.

On April 22, 2008, Dr. Sri Sai Kaleshwar met with the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Aathoti Rama Rao of the Sri Krishnadevaraya University, to present his College with a check worth $60,000. This amount was in addition to the previous contribution of $200,000, which will be completed by June. Accompanying the Chancellor was Registrar Mr. Rama Krishna Reddy and other Professors.

On April 19, 2008 Dr. Sri Sai Kaleshwar visited the Sri Krishna Devaraya University to observe the progress of the construction of the newly built Engineering college. It was through his generous donation of $460,000 that this new Engineering college was able to be built. The building will be named Sri Kaleshwar Technology Bhavan.

After an 1.5 hours tour of the entire building, Dr. Sri Sai Kaleshwar spoke to the media. He expressed his sense of responsibility to look after the construction and its progress and said that he was very pleased by what had been completed to date. He expressed great appreciation of the participation by the officials of the University in expediting the building’s completion.

Thus far $200,000 has been funded, with an additional $60,000 forthcoming to assist in speeding up construction. Sri Kaleshwar has projected that the completion date of the total building will be by July 31, 2008.

Sri Kaleshwar further reminded everyone that he himself studied and graduated from Sri Krishna Devaraya University, and in return felt especially compelled to do something for this university. In addition to the Engineering College, he is also prepared to construct a dormitory as a living facility to be used for those students too poor and unable to find housing.

Sri Kaleshwar said that he was going to construct a Super Speciality Hospital in the drought stricken area of Penukonda, within Anantapur District. This hospital will serve to provide quality medical treatment for the poor. The construction of the hospital will start on August 14, 2008 and will be completed within 3 years. In addition to the main hospital a medical and nursing college will also be built.

Sri Kaleshwar spoke further about the development of the 100 villages which he is sponsoring. He expressed his inspiration and desire to continue this work no matter how much money it will take; his only desire being to develop those villages and provide all the needed facilities and development for each of these locations.

The officials present were University Registrar Mr. Krishna Reddy, Prof. Ramakrishna Reddy, Prof. Sudhakar, Prof. Malakondaiah, Prof. Prabhakar, Ex- Registrar Pro. Rama krishna Reddy and others were present.
